The Lego Ninjago Movie(2017) 'LINK'

Great animation, a talented voice cast, and some very funny gags still can't keep this from feeling like a recycled version of something that was once fresh and exciting. The story beats here have been seen before in both human and lego form. Even when we sever the film from its place within the growing Lego Movie Universe, it's still just a formulaic, intermittently funny production. I sense that there's still a significant burst of creative energy left in the series, though, but if we keep going down this route, it won't last.
